Apple is to purchase the magazine app subscription service named Texture for a price yet not disclosed.

Texture offers unlimited access for its Us based users to over 200 titles with a monthly subscription of $9.99 only.

Texture at present is owned by Next Issue Media, which is supported by popular magazine publishers like Conde Nast, Rogers Communication, News Corp, Hearst, Meredith, and Time Inc. Texture was introduced in the year 2010.

Apple is running a music-streaming subscription service already and is commissioning new television content too. This is leading to a speculation that Apple might launch a streaming service to compete with its rival Netflix.
