Medical advancement is increasing day by day. This advancement with technology makes much better care and analysis. Thus to overtake the advancement, new system's developed. This system is a single Smartphone analyzer shrinks a hospital lab into portable device. It makes more optimized and compatible method for labs. Scientists are making more compatible devices that will make more easy and sophisticated analysis.

Study at University:

Bioengineers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaignhave invented on Smartphone. This Smartphone have turned into a portable diagnostic laboratory capable of performing a range of spectrum analyses. This technique is currently done using large and expensive stationary machines. Scientist built a Smartphone attachment that uses the Smartphone’s camera to analyze the colorimetric absorption spectrum, fluorescence emission spectrum, and resonant reflection spectrum of a sample placed inside a custom microfluidic cartridge.

New Device:

The device called transmission-reflectance-intensity (TRI)-Analyzer. The prototype cost only $550 to build. This cost is considerably less than commercial machines. These machines are currently in use in hospitals around the world. Moreover, the price is expecting to be much lower if it ends up by manufacturing in large quantities.

Since the three spectrums analysis techniques are in use and trails for them are available. The researchers believe that introducing this technology into clinics will be very easy. To demonstrate this, they ran two trails currently on the market using their TRI-Analyzer, including an ELISA. ELISA trail is that detects fetal fibronectin protein and a fluorescent trail that spots phenylalanine. The results correlated quite closely with the findings produced by costly commercial tools.

The device has a green laser or the phone’s in-built LED flash to illuminate the sample. The light from which the sample is redirect’s through an optical fiber into diffraction grating and onward into the phone’s camera. An app that captures and analyzes the image, will providing diagnostic results without much operator person. This is because the sample cartridges can be resting inside a linear gun magazine. Using this multiple tests can be performing in one after another in quick succession. 

This makes the analysis trial easier to perform. Hence without changing cartridges multiple tests are possible. This thing of simple test is much better than currently using methods. Following this will be quite easy and effective to achieve the result as early as possible. Doctors should use the same techniques in lab from now onward. This will make less effort for them.
