Apple And Epson Facing Legal complaints

Apple Inc And Epson are facing legal complaints in france for  allegedly boosting the aging process of their products to increase the demand.

A French consumer association named “Stop Planned Obsolescence”  filed official complaints in court against these companies. The complaints are filed in Paris. Last month prosecutor opened an investigation of the case.

The motto of launching the complaints is to make these companies adhere the updated French consumer law (which was modified in 2015) which has the norm of planned obsolescence.

This is not the only lawsuit against Apple. Apple is already facing lawsuits in the US for allegedly slowing down the iPhone.

As per one notion mentioned in the French law, companies have to pay penaulty of up to 5 % of their annual sales for deliberately shortening the life of their products.
