Boosting swab production amid testing shortage

The USA president Donald Trump recently declared that he plans to utilize the Defense production act to speed up the swab production of the country by nearly 20 million per month for the COVID-19 tests. The president said that the administration is close to approving an association with one manufacturer to generate an extra 10 million swabs per month for COVID-19 test kits, which are utilized to gather specimens from a throat or nose of patient. Mr. Trump stated that he is preparing to make use of the Defense Production Act on another vendor to boost its swab production more than 20 million/month.

The American president did not reveal the names of the vendors. He previously sanctioned the defense production program on firms such as General Motors as well as General Electric to generate additional ventilators, although many had already commenced its implementation.
